A Valentine’s Day with Two Lovers

Here came February 14th – Valentine’s Day again.

This Valentine’s Day was just like any other one which came quietly at the middle of the second month of the year. This Valentine’s Day was also to be a quite new and special experience, because this year there would be a new member joining Alex and I to celebrate this occasion. This new member was our son Jason. He was staying with my parents most time of the year as he was taking classes at the kindergarten there. But he would stay with us for the whole February, so Alex and I took a day off work, planning on making today a special memory.

I got up really early in the morning to prepare breakfast. When Alex and Jason came to the breakfast table, I was able to serve the egg sandwich and fresh milk in time. After breakfast, we drove right to the zoo which is Jason’s favorite place in the city. Jason loved animal a lot and had a great time there. He fed the giraffe and watched monkeys jump from tree to tree. He enjoyed the performance of the dolphins and took photos with the tigers. We saw a lot of animals and took a lot of pictures. Jason was very happy that he saw so many animals at some slow distance. Though overjoyed, he got so tired after long hours of walking that he had to sit on the shoulder of Alex during the later part of our visit.

It was about noon when we finished the tour to the zoo. So we headed to the KFC – Jason’s favorite restaurant. With the takeout from KFC, we had a good rest during our lunch picnic in the park. As Alex was helping Jason finding crickets in the grass, I watched them and recalled a lot of old memories. I remembered the first Valentine’s Day that Alex and I spent together. I remembered when Jason was born and the first time he called me Mum. I remembered Alex read bed stories to him and he giggled like a little angle. And now the two men I loved the most were right here, playing and laughing on the grass not far away. And I sat there watching them and wished this moment could last forever.

If Valentine’s Day was a special day to spend time with your loved ones, then this was out of question the best Valentine’s Day I ever had.
