Tips for Losing Weight in summer

Going out in summer is like staying in a furnace. It was so hot outside that I stayed at home the whole summer vacation last year. What I liked best was to lie in the sofa motionlessly because even a minimum movement, say walking, might result in a lot of sweat. What I did most was watching TV, but I was eating all the time simultaneously. I was not aware of the fact that I became fatter until one day I weighed myself on the bathroom scales. Five pounds more! I even could not imagine what I would look like if I went on lying in the sofa and eating, eating, eating! I was so worried about my weight that I went to one of my friends, who was a doctor, for counseling. Here I want to share his advices with you:

A. Get up early

A day begins earlier in summer than in the other three seasons, so you’d better get up earlier to have a walk, do some running, ride the bike, or play tennis. The best periods of time for exercise in the day are before 9 o’clock in the morning and after the sun gets down under the horizon. You should make full use of them.

B. Drink more water

Your body requires 7 to 8 bottles of water when it is cool, let alone in summer. You will need 2 to 3 bottles more. It is pity that a lot of people compensate for their loss of water by drinking soft drinks with sugar in them or beer instead of water. In fact, however, 340 ml beer contains 150 calories of heat in it. If you drink several bottles within one day, you will preserve a lot of heat in your body, which can not be dispersed by shedding sweat alone. Water is best for you. Before you do the sports, you’d better at least drink 2 bottles of water. Do not wait to look for water until you feel thirsty for it is no good for your health.

C. Food

The less spicy, the better. You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible in order to decrease your appetite for other foods. You do not need to worry about your weight because fruits and vegetables can help to decrease the amount of fat. Whereas, don’t be too strict with yourself. You can sometimes have a piece of cake or ice cream.

D. More meals with less food each time

It is lucky for you that the hot weather in summer may make you eat less food, for you seldom feel hungry. However, when the evening begins and the temperature cools down, your appetite will become good and you may go to search foods in the fridge. Therefore, if you want to lose weight, you can have 5 meals one day. Remember you must have a little food each meal and that the average time between every 2 meals should be the same.
